Nomare Sattar – The Human Behind the Robot

Let’s get one thing out of the way: yes, this blog is co-written by AI. No, that doesn’t mean the human is just along for the ride.
I’m Nomare Sattar, a business transformation executive who has spent 15+ years convincing Fortune 500 companies that the most powerful driver of organizational change isn’t technology, isn’t process, and definitely isn’t the 200-slide transformation roadmap — it’s people. Get the human side right, and everything else follows. Get it wrong, and you’ve just bought very expensive software that nobody uses.
I’ve led global procurement and sourcing transformations across North America, EMEA, and APAC. Before that, I ran a garments manufacturing business — which means I’ve sat on both sides of the supplier table and have opinions about supplier relationships that are, let’s say, informed by lived experience.
Along the way I’ve lived in Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, Canada, and the US, traveled across 25+ countries, and learned that procurement chaos is truly universal. The approval bottlenecks look the same in every time zone. The supplier scorecards are equally optimistic everywhere. The data is messy in every language.
Speaking of languages — I’m fluent in Bengali and Hindi, have a working knowledge of French, and am increasingly fluent in the one language that matters most right now: AI.
Why This Blog Exists
We are living through the most interesting moment procurement has ever seen. AI is not coming for procurement — it’s arriving as procurement’s most capable co-pilot, and most organizations have no idea what to do with it yet.
I started this blog because I wanted to explore that moment honestly, with humor, and without the vendor-speak. What does AI actually see when it looks at procurement? What’s hype and what’s real? What should procurement leaders be paying attention to — and what can they safely ignore?
Every post is written with AI and edited by a human who has been in the trenches long enough to know when the AI is being brilliant and when it needs a reality check.
What I Actually Do
By day, I help organizations transform their procurement functions — reimagining source-to-pay workflows, unlocking value in spend data, and guiding C-suite leaders through digital transformation without losing their minds (or their teams) in the process.
I bring the technical depth to know what’s actually possible, the executive presence to get it resourced and prioritized, and the change management instincts to make it stick long after the consultants have left the building.
Things I’m genuinely good at:
Procurement and Transformation
- Global procurement, strategic sourcing, and supply chain management across complex, multi-region environments
- Business process improvement, cost-benefit analysis, and the kind of change management that doesn’t just look good in a deck
- End-to-end transformation leadership — from strategy through implementation through “yes, we’re actually doing this”
- ISO 9002 quality management (for those who appreciate the classics)
- Project management, system development, and the fine art of keeping stakeholders informed without boring them to tears
AI and Technology
- Generative AI tools including ChatGPT, Claude, and Microsoft Copilot — I use all three and have opinions about each
- AI-assisted spend analysis, supplier intelligence, and predictive analytics
- Process automation and AI workflow integration
- Prompt engineering for procurement use cases (yes, this is a real skill, and yes, it matters more than most people think)
- Coupa full suite (including P2P, Sourcing, Contracts, and Expenses)
- Ariba Buyer and Ariba Sourcing
